Job summary

Newmont Corporation seeks a specialized legal counsel for its Mexico City operation, hybrid workplace. The role covers governance, compliance, commercial, employment, and sustainability, reporting to Directors/Principal, Legal.

You will draft and negotiate major contracts, monitor regulatory changes, and support disputes with internal teams and external counsel. The position requires a law degree and license, strong contract skills, and advanced English.

Qualifications

• Law degree and license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Advanced English proficiency in writing and speaking.
• Experience in mining or multinational environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Advise executives and management on governance, regulatory compliance, commercial, land, employment, and sustainability.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and EPCM arrangements.
• Monitor regulatory developments and provide risk-based solutions.
• Support dispute avoidance and coordinate with external counsel.
• Provide legal support on sustainability, environmental, and employment matters.
• Ensure compliance with local laws including competition, IP, and labor regulations.
• Develop templates, guidelines, and deliver legal training to stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate legal records and registries for audits and reporting.
