Job summary

Nuvnext is seeking a mechanical engineer for on-site instrumentation in Guadalajara, Mexico. You will define what to measure in equipment, vehicles and processes and plan sensor installations, connecting physical data to business outcomes.

In the first 90 days you will learn the platform, define instrumentation for a real client case, and see a data point feed an agent's decision in production environments.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering degree, finished or nearly finished.
• Willing to work on site in the plant or yard.
• Some coding ability or eagerness to learn.
• Ability to explain mechanical failures to decision-makers.

The role

• Define what to measure in equipment, vehicles and physical processes, and how.
• Plan where and how sensors and cameras are installed in the client's operation.
• Connect the physical with the business inside the ontology.

Your first 90 days

• Day 30

  You learn Labs, computer vision and the platform; you visit an operation.

• Day 60

  You define the instrumentation for a real client case.

• Day 90

  A physical data point you defined already feeds an agent's decision.

Must have

• A mechanical engineering degree, finished or nearly finished.
• You like being in the plant, on site or in the yard.
• You code a little or want to learn.
• You can explain a mechanical failure to the person who decides.

• Sensors, PLCs or telemetry.
• CAD.
