Vertiv Group in Monterrey, Mexico is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support lead engineers in creating 3D parts, assembly CAD models, 2D drawings and BOM data for water chiller products.

You will develop Creo models, maintain BOM, collaborate with electrical and thermal engineers, and support prototypes, validation and manufacturing issues. English communication preferred.

Formación

• HVAC/refrigeration mechanical design experience preferred.
• Proficient in Creo and PLM/PDM tools.
• Experience with BOM management and change orders.
• Strong English communication.

Mechanical Engineer

Position summary:

• The Mechanical Design Engineer will support lead engineers with the creation of 3D parts, assembly CAD Models, 2D Drawings and 3D Model Based Definitions, Bill of Materials (BOM) and PLM/PDM data. It is expected to perform tasks with minimal to no supervision and coaching. Will support the NPDI projects developing reliable and accurate designs for water Chiller products.

Responsabilities:

• Contribute to the design of chiller products developing structural sheet metal parts and HVAC piping including refrigerant and hydraulic.
• Create and maintain 3D assembly models in Creo.
• Develop 3D parts and create required documentations 2D drawings or 3D Model Based Definitions (PVZ’s).
• Prepare and maintain BOM.
• Contribute and collaborate with electrical and thermal engineers to develop new solutions for chiller water systems.
• Selections of materials and hardware. Keep communication with suppliers.
• Support prototype builds and validation testing, manufacturing, quality issues and improvements.
• Under mentoring, will develop skillsets focused on thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Mechanical Engineering knowledge

• +5 years of experience mechanical design preferably on HVAC or refrigeration.
• CAD – Medium to Expert. PTC Creo is preferred.
• Experience with PLM systems (BOM management and change order release) and use of PDM systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC/R Systems and Components.
• Good English communication skills (written and verbal).

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

• When required to support factory operations, it will be needed to wear safety equipment (boots, gloves, sleeves, helmet, and safety glasses).
• No other physical or environmental demands.

TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED

• 10% - Could be local, regional, or global.
