Mechanical Engineer Level II

Mission: Assist and check engineering teams in preparing mechanical layouts, equipment distribution, perform equipment selection, define bill of materials and product models configurations, and perform materials ordering following project plans and schedules on medium and high complexity projects, under minimal supervision.

Perform mechanical design activities under the supervision of the mechanical engineering lead or lead a Mechanical Project Engineering team across various project sizes and complexities, efficiently, cost-effectively, and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. Also conduct on-site commissioning to ensure equipment distribution within the building and proper process flow.

Main Accountabilities:

1. Technical contribution: Prepare and coordinate mechanical engineering drawings with specialists using CAD, develop layouts integrating multiple levels for material handling, support BOM definition, and assist during site commissioning. Provide feedback for continuous improvement of project processes and designs.
2. Planning and control: Deliver assignments within agreed timelines and quality standards for 2D/3D CAD work, follow work plans, and ensure cost estimates align with project budgets, troubleshooting as needed.
3. Processes and tools: Apply standard design practices and tools to produce accurate drawings and models, ensure compliance with project specifications, and report inefficiencies with suggestions for improvement.
4. Risk and opportunity: Support risk and opportunity assessments during site commissioning and handle technical risks with mitigation guidelines.
5. Customer interaction: Engage with internal and external customers during project reviews and support their requests.

Additional requirements include some industrial experience, a professional engineering license or cedula, a master's degree in a related field, and a driver's license.
