Mechanical Engineer Level I

Mission: Assist engineering teams in preparing mechanical layouts, equipment distribution, perform equipment selection, define bill of materials and product model configurations, and perform materials ordering following project plans and schedules on medium and high complexity projects, under supervision.

Perform mechanical design activities under the supervision of a mechanical engineering lead across various project sizes and complexities, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. Also perform (to a lesser extent) on-site commissioning to ensure equipment distribution within the building and proper process flow.

Main Accountabilities:

1. Technical contribution: Prepare mechanical engineering drawings in collaboration with specialists using CAD systems. Develop layouts integrating multiple levels for material handling flow and support BOM definition aligned with manufacturing and customer schedules. Support site commissioning to ensure equipment distribution and performance. Contribute to continuous improvement through lessons learned feedback.
2. Planning and control: Deliver assignments within agreed timelines and quality standards for 2D/3D CAD work. Follow work plans and budget estimates, troubleshooting as needed.
3. Processes and tools: Apply standard design practices and tools accurately in drawings and 3D models. Ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements. Report inefficiencies and suggest improvements.
4. Risk and opportunity: Assist in risk and opportunity assessments during site commissioning and manage technical risks by following mitigation guidelines during equipment distribution phases.
5. Customer: Interact with internal and external customers during project reviews and support requests.
6. Industrial Experience: More than 3 years of industrial experience.
7. Careers alike: Mechanical Engineer, Mechatronics Engineer, Robotics.
8. REQUIRED: Professional license and/or cedula is mandatory.
9. Desired: Driver's License preferred.
10. Definition: Individual contributor executing work assignments using theoretical knowledge of methods and technologies, working under direct supervision or independently.
11. Competencies - Required Level (1 beginner to 5 expert): CAD Drawings 2D & 3D - 3, Parametric design - 2, Project Management - 1, Mechanical Engineering (Layouts/Materials/Product structure) – 1, Collaboration & Teamwork - 2, English – 4.
