Overview

The Materials Supervisor will oversee all planning functions of both Arimex operations in Otay and Lago Sur. The position works closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Safety groups. In this role, you will develop, implement, and manage the production planning process and perform supply chain strategic action items as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Plan production and purchasing requirements for Arimex.
• Issue a clear production plan and perform plan versus actuals monitoring (compliance to schedule).
• Provide priorities to the production floor to best utilize available labor.
• Update ERP system with expected production and shipping dates on due products.
• Read and understand ERP reports, stock status reports, material variance reports, and customer order shortage reports and use them to improve KPI performance
• Review open requirements, monitor vendor performance, and expedite when necessary.
• Responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels between the plant and distribution centers.
• Ensure that items that are shipped from the plant get delivered in a timely manner to distribution centers.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive short-term corrective actions while recommending and establishing long-term fixes.
• Execute corporate and strategic plans to meet goals including Inventory levels, cost reduction, VMI/stocking agreements, supplier consolidation, alternative vendor development, on-time delivery performance, and excess and obsolete reduction.
• Develop improved planning systems and practices
• Foster creativity and innovation within the materials team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a Business related field
• 7 years of experience in Purchasing, Planning and Warehouse Operations
• 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience
• Must be capable of working in an independent, self-directed manner and be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent problem-solving & analytical skills
• Excellent math, problem solving, analytical, project management, and time management skills
• Bilingual English/Spanish, both written and verbal

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• An advanced degree in business, engineering, science, or mathematics
• Lean Manufacturing or Lean Six Sigma experience
• Assembly and Injection molding experience
• APICS CPIM or CSCP certified
• US visa
