Knorr Bremse Group is seeking a Materials Planner in Ciudad Acuña, Mexico. The successful candidate will manage and expedite material needs to ensure on-time delivery and appropriate inventory levels. Responsibilities include ordering materials, managing supplier performance, and ensuring compliance with agreements.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree or APICS certification, as well as 1-3 years of MRP and ERP experience, ideally with SAP knowledge.

Formación

Job Description

Position Summary

The Materials Planner key responsibility is to expedite or de‑expedite direct material and adjust supplier schedules according to the demand plan and assure there’s no excess or shortage of direct material per product demand requirements. Ensure material is delivered on time and maintains reasonable inventory levels. Monitor supplier delivery performance, backlog, and elevate potential supplier delivery issues that place the assembly line at risk of shutting down production.

Essential Functions

• Plans and orders needed material quantities within needed delivery dates
• Ensures good receipts according to requested delivery dates
• Enforces purchasing agreement dates with suppliers
• Ensures optimization of truck load for inbound deliveries
• Manages PPAP expected dates with suppliers and coordinates efforts between purchasing, engineering, and quality
• Checks order confirmations regarding price and delivery date and works with purchasing to address discrepancies
• Communicates to suppliers any drawing and/or product specifications changes and ensures suppliers receive and understand changes and requirements
• Manages returns to suppliers, debit notes, parts replacements on time
• Maintains the material master according to MRP fields
• Ensures inventory level per agreed upon targets
• Monitors inventory levels and expedited material as needed to avoid production line disruptions
• Controls inbound premium cost and ensures approval process is followed
• Escalates unsolved backlog issues to assure assembly line is not disrupted
• Supports PSA activities and procedures with team members
• Performs all other activities required by the nature of the position

Management & Supervisory Responsibilities

• The role is NOT directly responsible for managing other employees

Knowledge

• SAP/ERP Knowledge

Experience

• 1‑3 years of experience in MRP and ERP systems
• SAP experience (preferred)
