Formación

POSITION SUMMARY

The Materials & Manufacturing Planning Manager is responsible for the materials management function relating to the planning, purchasing, and expediting of materials and products to meet operational objectives and customer requirements. Monitor and direct the materials and manufacturing planning functions associated with the support of the manufacturing operation. Set aggressive improvement goals and report results on a regular basis. Maintain and report minimum inventory levels appropriate to the manufacturing operations. Utilize systems to reduce, control, and disposition obsolete inventory. Advise and recommend changes to procedures, policies, processes, and equipment related to the materials management functions. Provide support for the implementation of supplier development programs and manufacturing certifications (i.e. supplier certification, ISO 9000, etc.). Assist in the development and implementation of improved Materials Requirements Planning systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and direct the materials and manufacturing planning, production control, material control functions associated with the support of plant manufacturing operation.
  • Develop performance measurements for department functions. Set aggressive improvement goals and report results on a regular basis.
  • Manage the planning and flow of materials and FGs to maximize delivery performance while optimizing inventory performance.
  • Accountable for inventory forecasting and inventory policies implementation.
  • Responsible for SIOP planning to support sister plants.
  • Supports INTERCOMPANY SIOP processes.
  • Manage a team of buyers and planners; increase productivity, professional development, and careers.
  • Develop & create training plans to maximize workforce capability.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and provide regular feedback.
  • Schedule and conduct department meetings; foster employee engagement and ensure that business and operational goals are effectively communicated to employees.
  • Manage all department projects and ensure the directions and anticipated results are in line with power business initiatives and priorities.
  • Support the SIOP process and step in to lead as required.
  • Identify, share, and implement best in class supply chain practices.
  • Develop standard work, policies, and procedures in collaboration with other facilities' Materials Managers and professional supply chain resources.
  • Suggest and lead continuous improvement for your department and others.
  • Manage Supplier held inventory programs to improve delivery, reduce lead-times, and avoid E&O and risk to Vertiv.
  • Collaborate with other departments to drive continuous improvement for Vertiv.
  • Collaborate with other facilities and regions of the world to optimize inventory globally.
  • ITC leader for Materials Department.
  • Monitor capacities and product line delivery performance and daily throughputs.
  • Work with manufacturing operation to improve material flow through the plant and increase productivity.
  • Drive Rigorous Operating Cadence (Tier Accountability).
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA or BS in Business Administration or related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience.
  • APICS or CPM certification preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • MBA or related advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of SIOP and production scheduling dynamics.

Experience leading cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an industrial, high mix job shop environment.
  • An excellent understanding of our manufacturing operations, supply chain management, and appropriate Vertiv products.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
