Organization - The Standard, Mexico City

The Standard, Mexico City is landing in the historic Tabacalera neighborhood—and we're not coming quietly. With 206 guestrooms, 27 branded residences, restaurants and bars with plenty to say, and a rooftop overlooking the Monumento a la Revolución, we're bringing a new kind of energy to Latin America.

Summary

Now we need a Marketing Coordinator to help make sure the right people hear about it. We're looking for someone who knows that even the best ideas need a deadline, the right file name, and someone who actually follows up. You'll be organized, proactive, culturally curious, and ready to turn creative briefs into sharp content, smooth productions, memorable experiences, and very clear next steps. Reporting to the Marketing Experience Manager, you'll work closely with the Marketing & Culture team and collaborators across the hotel to keep campaigns, partnerships, content, and events moving-from the first idea to the final recap.

The Opportunity

At The Standard, marketing isn't about making noise for the sense of it. It's about knowing what's worth talking about-and giving people a reason to join the conversation. As our Marketing Coordinator, you'll be at the center of the action: supporting campaigns, social media, cultural research, creative production, partnerships, events, and all the behind-the-scenes details that make the visible parts look effortless. You know the city or can't stop trying to. You pay attention to what's happening in contemporary art, music, design, fashion, film, food, and nightlife, from major institutions to the independent scenes shaping what comes next. You don't need to know everyone, but you should know how to look, listen, ask the right questions, and spot something interesting before it becomes obvious. This is a hands‑on role for someone ready to grow within lifestyle hospitality while helping shape the opening of a hotel that was never meant to blend in.

What You'll Do
  • Support the Marketing Experience Manager and Marketing & Culture Director in bringing campaigns, content, partnerships, events, and special projects to life.
  • Keep the department's master calendar, project trackers, timelines, deliverables, and approval workflows accurate and moving.
  • Turn briefs, meetings, and conversations into clear action lists—and make sure deadlines, owners, and next steps don't disappear into the ether.
  • Request, review, and organize photography, video, design, and copy assets, keeping folders, file names, and versions under control.
  • Write, edit, and proofread Spanish and English copy for social media, newsletters, websites, presentations, invitations, and hotel materials.
  • Prepare and schedule approved content, monitor interactions, and direct questions or issues to the right team.
  • Stay close to Mexico City's cultural pulse by researching emerging trends, conversations, collaborators, audiences, and competitive activity.
  • Support photo shoots and content production, coordinating call sheets, products, permits, talent, suppliers, transportation, and on‑site logistics.
  • Help run events and experiences from invitation to aftermath, including RSVPs, guest lists, run of show, talent requirements, setup, hospitality, and follow‑up.
  • Keep agencies, creatives, talent, partners, and suppliers on track with the information, schedules, materials, and deliverables they need.
  • Work across Food & Beverage, Rooms, Sales, Events, and Operations to keep hotel communications, promotions, and priorities current.
  • Maintain organized databases of contacts, partners, creators, talent, and suppliers, along with campaign, content, and event archives.
  • Support the less glamorous-very necessary-side of marketing, including quotes, vendor onboarding, purchase orders, contracts, invoices, and budget tracking.
  • Gather metrics and materials for reports, recaps, and postmortems, helping identify what worked, what didn't, and what we should do next.
  • Be ready to support the moments that don't happen from nine to five, including selected evenings and weekends.
Qualifications
What You'll Bring
  • One to three years of experience in marketing, communications, culture, hospitality, events, content, creative production, or a related field. Strong internships and relevant projects count.
  • A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, Cultural Management, Production, or a related field—or equivalent hands‑on experience.
  • Excellent Spanish writing, editing, proofreading, and editorial judgment, plus professional English for working with international teams.
  • An almost suspicious level of organization and the follow‑through to keep multiple tasks, deadlines, and stakeholders moving at once.
  • Familiarity with social media, content calendars, collaboration platforms, and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
  • Basic knowledge of Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, content capture and editing, or email marketing platforms is a welcome plus.
  • The ability to research widely, make sense of what you find, and present it clearly without overcomplicating it.
  • Genuine hospitality, good judgment, and discretion—especially when the pace picks up.
  • A sharp eye for details, inconsistencies, and potential problems before they become actual problems.
  • Resourcefulness and confidence: you know when to figure it out, when to ask, and when to elevate.
  • A collaborative, ego‑free way of working across creative and operational teams.
  • Calm under pressure, adaptability when plans change, and a sense of humor when they change again.
  • A real interest in Mexico City's cultural landscape and the wonderfully unpredictable world of lifestyle hospitality.

If you're culturally curious, relentlessly organized, and know how to turn a good idea into something people want to be part of, we should talk.
