Cummins Inc. seeks a production supervisor to manage daily shop floor activities, ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery, and coach a manufacturing team.

You will drive continuous improvement, coordinate cross-functional efforts with Quality and Maintenance, and lead problem-solving using Lean tools and 5 Whys.

Relocation support is available and the role is 100% on-site with some flexibility to optimize shift coverage.

• Lead root-cause problem solving on the floor using 5 Whys and structured methods.
• Drive continuous improvement with Lean tools, 7 Wastes, and Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
• Monitor core KPIs such as OEE, scrap, downtime, and on-time delivery, escalating issues as needed.

Job Summary

Responsible for the daily activities of a production team including managing team members,housekeeping, and meeting production targets.

Works cross functionally to recommend and engage in improving safety, productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations.

Serves as group lead on projects and work assignments. Provides guidance and feedback for team members in accomplishing tasks and goals; sets expectations and clarifies responsibilities.

Coaches and mentors team members.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• Intermediate English

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Enforce and ensure strict compliance with safety procedures and work instructions across all production lines.
• Promote a culture of coaching, safety awareness, and self-care within the team.
• Monitor and report safety key performance indicators (KPIs), addressing and escalating unsafe acts or conditions immediately.
• Supervise production line operations, driving hourly performance tracking to meet daily manufacturing plans.
• Identify operational deviations in real time, implementing immediate corrective actions and executing escalation protocols when necessary.
• Proactively execute production adjustments and line balancing in close collaboration with Quality and Maintenance teams.
• Monitor and optimize core operational KPIs, including OEE, scrap reduction, downtime minimization, quality rates, and on-time delivery.
• Lead immediate containment actions and material segregation during quality non-conformances to guarantee total customer protection.
• Ensure all products meet established quality standards prior to advancing through the manufacturing process.
• Manage, develop, and coach shop floor personnel through clear goal alignment, continuous feedback, and performance monitoring.
• Maintain and update the team skill matrix, developing targeted training and certification plans to build cross-functional capabilities.
• Drive a continuous improvement mindset utilizing Lean Manufacturing tools, 7 Wastes identification, and Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
• Lead root-cause problem solving on the floor using 5 Whys and structured problem-solving methodologies.
