Job Responsibilities

Facilitate and direct daily production activities to ensure control and compliance with established process control and operating procedures. Achieve plant requirements for safety, quality, delivery, selectivity, uptime, throughput, and cost.

  1. Schedule resources and prioritize activities to ensure efficient production schedule compliance, including product changeovers, upgrades, experiments, new product runs, training, and maintenance activities.
  2. Provide daily direction to production and maintenance employees, team leaders, technicians, and engineers on established procedures and policies.
  3. Communicate and report production and process performance metrics to production teams, plant operations staff, and functional leaders. Ensure that production targets and delivery requirements are met daily and weekly.
  4. Engage with plant teams and functional groups to identify and implement process improvements and cost reduction projects.
  5. Perform performance reviews and develop career and talent development plans for salaried/indirect and hourly/direct labor employees.
  6. Ensure the production process operates in compliance with established control set-points and procedures, enforcing process discipline and change control.
  7. Protect Corning's Intellectual Property (IP).
  8. Develop, implement, and monitor training, qualification, certification, and development programs for operators, team leaders, and engineers.
  9. Facilitate and monitor process/equipment changes and experimental plans, including process improvements, new product trials, equipment redesigns, and raw material changes.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree.
  • Frontline supervisory or team leader experience in a manufacturing environment, demonstrating accountability to process control and discipline.
  • Experience leading teams and projects to achieve continuous improvement, cost reduction, or performance goals.
  • Understanding of process management systems, control techniques, and discipline enforcement.
  • Training in supervisory effectiveness, conflict resolution, and active listening skills.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting and profitability management.
  • Training in safety and health fundamentals.
  • Experience in process engineering with the ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
  • Exposure to launching and ramping new products.
  • Green Belt certification in Performance Excellence, Lean, and DMAIC methodologies.
