Facilitate and direct daily production activities to ensure control and compliance with established process control and operating procedures. Achieve plant requirements for safety, quality, delivery, selectivity, uptime, throughput, and cost.
Responsibilities include:
- Scheduling resources and prioritizing activities to ensure efficient production schedules, including product changeovers, upgrades, experiments, new product runs, training, and maintenance.
- Providing daily direction to production and maintenance employees, team leaders, technicians, and engineers on established procedures and policies.
- Communicating and reporting production and process performance metrics to teams, plant operations, and leadership to meet daily and weekly targets.
- Engaging with teams and functional groups to identify and implement process improvements and cost reduction projects.
- Performing performance reviews and developing career and talent development plans for employees.
- Ensuring production processes operate in compliance with control set-points and procedures, enforcing process discipline and change control.
- Protecting Corning's Intellectual Property (IP).
- Developing and monitoring training, qualification, certification, and development programs for staff.
- Facilitating and monitoring process/equipment changes and experimental plans, including process improvements, new product trials, and equipment redesigns.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree.
- Experience as a frontline supervisor or team leader in a manufacturing environment, demonstrating accountability for process control and discipline.
- Proven ability to lead teams and projects toward continuous improvement, cost reduction, and performance enhancement.
- Understanding of process management systems, control, and discipline techniques.
- Training in supervisory effectiveness, conflict resolution, and active listening skills.
- Knowledge of cost accounting and profitability management.
- Training and experience in safety and health fundamentals.
- Experience in process engineering with problem-solving capabilities.
- Exposure to launching and ramping new products.
- Green Belt certification in Performance Excellence, Lean, and DMAIC methodologies.
