Descripción de la vacante

Vertiv seeks a Quality Engineer to monitor and improve manufacturing processes, lead audits, and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and related standards. You will develop SOPs, review designs with engineering, and drive corrective and preventive actions.

The role involves supervising quality technicians, conducting root-cause analyses, delivering training, and reporting KPIs to management. Based at our manufacturing facility, some travel to other sites may be required.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related field.
  • 4–8 years of experience in a quality engineering role, ideally within HVAC/thermal systems/assembly components.
  • Experience supervising quality technicians and leading quality improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ASQ certifications, and other relevant industry standards.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, process control techniques, and root cause analysis methods.

  • Conduct inspections, audits, and tests of components.
  • Analyze and resolve quality issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs for quality control and testing.
  • Review product designs, specifications, and production methods to ensure quality standards are integrated from the beginning.
  • Work with engineering and production teams to optimize production methods and quality standards.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of quality problems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with clients and external partners to ensure product quality and resolve quality concerns promptly.
  • Supervise and mentor quality technicians, providing guidance on testing, inspections, and reporting.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate production staff and quality technicians on quality standards and best practices.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and audits to ensure traceability and compliance with industry standards.
  • Prepare and present quality reports to management, highlighting KPIs, trends, and improvement initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4-8 years of experience in a quality engineering role, ideally within the HVAC, thermal systems, or assembly component industries.
  • Experience in supervising quality technicians and leading quality improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001, ASQ certifications, and other relevant industry standards.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, process control techniques, and root cause analysis methods
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
  • The role is primarily based in a manufacturing facility, requiring regular site visits and interaction with production teams.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols.
  • The role involves extended periods of sitting in front of a computer.
  • Occasional standing or walking may be required during meetings, presentations, or site visits.
  • Work is primarily conducted in an office environment with controlled temperature and lighting.
TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED
  • Travel to different office or plants locations, client sites, or conferences may be necessary.
