Job summary

Donaldson is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead and optimize liquid painting processes, define parameters for coating systems, and ensure operators have the right tools and instructions. You will drive defect reduction, throughput gains, and cost improvements while supporting new product introductions and PPAP activities.

The role demands strong process documentation, PFMEA and control plan work, plus collaboration across quality, manufacturing and supplier teams to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering.
• Experience in automotive, metal fabrication, or industrial manufacturing environments.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
• Yellow Belt or Green Belt certification.
• Experience creating manufacturing documentation including SOPs, work instructions, PFMEA, and control plans.
• Intermediate-Advanced English, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, standardization, validation, and continuous improvement of liquid painting processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and customer requirements are consistently met.
• Define and optimize painting application parameters for different coating systems, including products from suppliers.
• Ensure operators have the appropriate tools, equipment, work instructions, and process controls to execute painting operations effectively.
• Drive process improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, increasing throughput, improving first-pass yield, and minimizing scrap.
• Develop and implement advanced painting techniques and process innovations, such as wet-on-wet applications and other productivity-enhancing technologies.
• Analyze and resolve paint process issues through root cause analysis methodologies and corrective action implementation.
• Support new product launches, PPAP activities, and process validation requirements.
• Establish and maintain process documentation, including SOPs, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and manufacturing standards.
• Monitor process performance through data analysis, cycle time studies, and continuous improvement metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, quality, manufacturing, and engineering groups to achieve operational and customer objectives.
