Job Summary:
Primary integration manufacturing engineer for Avnet's computer product Integration facility. Consults with customers on a regular basis concerning integration set-up, validation, and maintenance of product in a manufacturing facility. Coordinates, documents, and supports manufacturing procedures for computer product.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Integrate and document first article, engineering validation and prototype orders.
- Resolve all technical and process-related issues. Document build processes and train production staff on customer requirements and industry best practices.
- Consult with other technology staff to evaluate operational and performance requirements of overall design/prototype.
- Confer with customers and suppliers to clarify and/or resolve problems. Prepare or direct preparation of product or system layout.
- Direct and coordinate building/manufacturing of product or systems.
- Review change requests, evaluate impact of change, and provide implementation timelines.
- Implement Engineering Change Orders (ECO) to document and build processes. Communicate Engineering Change Notifications (ECN) to production, sales, and customer engineering teams.
- Identify, investigate, and participate in opportunities to improve processes and procedures, including various key performance metrics.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Extensive knowledge and application of principles, theories and concepts. Complete knowledge of all job functions and the broad industry best practices, techniques and standards.
- Develop solutions to complex problems where analysis of situations and/or data requires in-depth evaluation of variables.
- Work is performed independently and requires the exercise of judgment and discretion.
- May represent the organization as a primary contact on assignments and/or projects. Interacts with senior professionals and management.
- Actions may impact the organization. Erroneous decisions may have a prolonged effect resulting in the expenditure of substantial resources.
Work Experience:
- Typically 5+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.
Education and Certification(s):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
- Technical Skills (Experience in 3 or more preferred)
- Microsoft Office Products
- Strong Electro/Mechanical Assembly Skills (Documentation, Deployment, Troubleshooting)
- Process Development & Support For Complex Assembly in a Manufacturing Environment
- Assembly Fixture Creation & Support
- Demonstrated Continuous Improvement Knowledge & Support
- Demonstrated Process & Manufacturing Engineering Experience
- Experience in a Manufacturing Environment (Experience in 1 or more of the following)
- Creation and Maintenance of BOMs (Bill of Materials)
- Agile, SAP, Arena, or other ERP
- Lean / Continuous Process Improvement
- DFA / DFM Analysis
- Prototype Support, NPI
- Read and Interpret Technical Documentation & Engineering Drawings
- Revision Control
- Demonstrated experience in process and assembly documentation
- Process Documentation
- Assembly / Test Documentation
- Position may require travel.
