Job summary

GKN Aerospace in Chihuahua seeks a Manufacturing Engineer - Product & Planning to design, modify and document fixtures, tools, and manufacturing processes. You will resolve production issues and support process improvements across the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Aeronautical/Mechatronic or similar.
• 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Valid visa and passport; ability to travel frequently.
• Knowledge of problem analysis methods and investigation techniques.
• Experience with assembly processes, sheet metal and composites.
• Familiarity with AS9102 FAI requirements; transfer projects desirable.
• Experience with CATIA or similar design software and MS Office.

• Develops, evaluates, and documents manufacturing processes and improvements.
• Implements process control techniques and work instructions (SPC, PFMEA).
• Analyzes manufacturing process flows to improve quality, reduce cost, and shorten lead times for new work.
• Collaborates with other functions to ensure effective production methods.
• Coordinates part inspection procedures with Quality Engineers.
• Documents root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Determines required materials and tools for production.
• Creates and updates work instructions.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of engineering work in planning, design and modification of fixtures, tools, and manufacturing processes. Resolves production problems and completes documentation on assigned parts

Job Responsibilities

• Develops, evaluates, improves and documents manufacturing processes
• Develops and implements process control techniques including work instructions using tools such as SPC, PFMEA
• Analyses manufacturing process flows continually for the improvements of quality, cost reduction, lead-time reduction for new work
• Collarborates with other functions to ensure effective production methods
• Coordinates part inspection procedures with Quality Engineers.
• Addresses and documents cause and corrective action issues to prevent future problem occurrences.
• Determines required material and tools for production
• Creates and registers changes to work instructions

Job Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor degree (Industrial, Mechanic, Aeronautical, Mechatronic or similar).
• Experience
  • Valid visa and passport.
  • Availability to travel frequently.
  • Experience at least 3 years in similar position.
  • Knowledge of methods of analysis and investigation of problems.
  • Knowledge of the assembly processes, sheet metal and composite.
  • FAI's requirements (AS9102).Desirable experience in transference projects.
  • Experience in design software (CATIA or similar) and Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpretation of engineering drawings and their specifications.
• Skills: Leadership, communication, problems solving, teamwork, sense of urgency, results oriented, continuous improvement..
• Requirement: Schedule flexibility.
