Regal Rexnord in Chihuahua, MX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to drive continuous improvement through process enhancements and waste reduction. This onsite role supports safety, quality, delivery and cost by applying manufacturing principles and AS9100 compliance.

The position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and requires a BS in Engineering, at least three years in manufacturing, and hands-on experience with grinding, turning and milling machinery.

  • BS in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Three years of engineering experience in a manufacturing plant environment.
  • At least one year of experience with grinding, turning, and milling machinery.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt a plus.

Brief Description

The Manufacturing Engineer II is responsible for helping to drive continuous improvement activities through process improvements and increased efficiencies to directly impact the overall performance objectives for the company and compliance to AS9100 requirements and/or division. This position significantly impacts Regal Rexnord’s ability in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

This position is Located in Chihuahua, MX

Key Accountabilities
  • Utilizes key mechanical design and manufacturing principles, such as Statics, Dynamics, Mechanical Design, Thermodynamics, Materials and Heat Transfer to effectively make decisions impacting product quality, delivery and cost
  • Reduce scrap and non-conformances by eliminating waste and variation in all forms
  • Drives root cause corrective actions to reduce non-conformances
  • Optimize productivity through efficient, ergonomic and safe work station and tooling designs
  • Remain current in new Manufacturing Engineering technology, new manufacturing techniques and new equipment. Recommend new approaches where feasible
  • Lead and participate in Kaizen events based on VSM Roadmaps
  • Utilizes RBS tools to solve problems and continuously improve. Strives to achieve facilitator certifications in specific RBS tools
  • Promote and facilitate the use/establishment of continuous improvement tools.
  • Assist in developing and implementing the lean manufacturing action plans to support achievement of strategy deployment and strategic business growth.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist others in solving problems using problem solving tools such as DMAIC
  • Develop and implement manufacturing cost out projects.
  • Assist manufacturing and assembly associates to resolve set-up, tooling and fixture problems, special process (heat treatment, plating and welding) and selection of proper tooling and grinding wheels.
  • Develop, maintain and implement process routings and set-up instructions for the production of parts and assemblies
Job Requirements
Capabilities and Success Factors
  • BS in Engineering, or related technical field required
  • A minimum of three years of engineering experience working in a manufacturing plant environment
  • At least one year of experience with grinding, turning, and milling machinery
  • Strong understanding of key manufacturing principles, such as Statics, Dynamics, Mechanical Design, Thermodynamics, Materials and Heat Transfer
  • Ability to extract critical data and analyze data to make informed business decisions.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt a plus
  • Excellent computer skills (word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, etc.)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management.
  • Team orientated with the ability to influence others without authority
