The role requires a strong background in welding codes, leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in English. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining welding procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet customer specifications.

Formación

Position Summary

Need to be certified as a CWI

Provide in-house welding engineering expertise in regard to the application and interpretation of codes, processes and practices affecting welding, fabrication and quality assurance activities. This includes, yet is not limited to developing, approving and maintaining weld procedures, welder qualifications, and customer required inspection and test plans.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Member of American Welding Society and Welder certification.(CWI)
  • 4 Year Engineering/ Technical degree with minimum of 5 yrs Experience (welding and quality related).
  • Detailed knowledge of welding and Quality Assurance codes and standards including ASME section IX and AWS D1.1, working knowledge of materials standards (i.e., ASTM material codes), NACE, NORSOK and other industry standards commonly required for weld process certification.
  • Metallurgical background preferred.
  • Practical experience reading, interpreting and translating customer order and other (i.e., national and international standards) specifications. Ability to develop inspection and test instructions based on order and specification requirements and special processes.
  • Hands on welding experience in a fabrication, casting repair and piping environment preferred
  • Leadership skills, knowledge of machine shop, inspection and testing processes, strong communication skills (written & verbal), strong computer skills (AS400, Access, Excel, Word, Shop Floor & Intranet), familiarity with ISO 9001 and Quality System requirements, strong customer service skills, familiarity with Lean manufacturing concepts, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, team player, organizational skills, decision maker, ability to facilitate cross-functional meetings and reach consensus, ability to read and understand design drawings with GD&T, and ability to use standard measuring devices.
Position Requirements

Industrial mechanical engineering or similar degree, fluent conversational English.
