ME I Primary Responsibilities
- Define, justify, implement, and validate manufacturing processes.
- Follow activities to maintain and improve FPY in processes.
- Track process metrics and drive process improvement.
- Collaborate with development teams, manufacturing, customers, and suppliers to ensure that highly manufacturable designs are released to production.
- Support specification of components and materials.
- Develop manufacturing plans.
- Design, fabricate, modify, and evaluate tooling.
- Assign work to technicians as appropriate.
- Provide technical support across the company as required.
- Create and maintain good relationships with suppliers and customers.
- Drive quality improvements and manage corrective action requests (CARs).
- Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Gather tooling requirements from manufacturing engineering and product drawings/specifications.
- Interpret customer inspection requirements to ensure tooling functionality.
- Assist Quality Assurance personnel with tool inspection criteria and data interpretation.
- Train and evaluate operators on tool use and improvements.
- Maintain high ethical standards and adhere to Leach’s ethics and business conduct policies.
- Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic, Industrial, Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Aerospace Engineering from a four-year college or university.
- Strong background in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, with experience in solving complex material, design for manufacturability, and process issues.
- Over 5 years of experience leading product, process, project, manufacturing, or quality engineering teams.
- At least three years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, with knowledge of welding, soldering, and electromechanical assemblies.
- Understanding of communication protocols (MIL-STD, ASM, NADCAP, GD&T).
- Experience leading cost-saving projects, transfer lines, and NPI.
- Knowledge of process capability, statistical analysis, and design of experiments.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral.
- Proficiency in CAD, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Visio.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% on short notice.
