Cummins seeks a Manufacturing Process Engineer to contribute to planning, designing, purchasing, and implementing changes to manufacturing equipment and systems. You will work with cross-functional teams to improve safety, quality, and efficiency while supporting new line development and workstation design.

The role requires advanced English, a bachelor's in Mechanics, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering, and strong experience in machining or forging.

Formación

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks to review and modify drawings.
  • Experience supporting new line development and workstation design.
  • Experience updating standard work instructions and documentation.
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, ergonomics, and efficiency in manufacturing.
  • Experience with workstation design and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong project management and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with internal customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of Value Stream Mapping and lean tools.
  • Ability to identify improvements via Ishikawa, Pareto, 5 Why, VSM.
  • Experience translating process analysis into Kaizen events.
  • Proactive, analytical, hands-on approach to manufacturing issues.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment with operations.
  • Experience in forging and machining is a plus.
  • Advanced English.

Responsabilidades

  • Assists with projects to create and implement manufacturing processes ensuring safety requirements, goals, and specs are met.
  • Contributes by applying manufacturing principles to improve equipment and processes; develops standards and methods.
  • Works with internal and external resources on project assignments and learns manufacturing practices as applied to Cummins.
  • Partner with operations to drive continuous improvements and standardization.
  • Support cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones and quality targets are achieved.

Job Summary:

Contributes to the planning, designing, purchasing,and implementation of changes to the manufacturing equipment and systems while contributing to teams.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks, with the ability to interpret, review, open, measure, and modify engineering drawings.
  • Experience supporting new line development and implementation, including workstation and process design.
  • Experience developing and updating standard work instructions and documentation.
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, ergonomics, and efficiency requirements within manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with workstation design and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong project management and follow-up skills, including tracking part numbers, materials, tooling, lubricants, and other production requirements.
  • Ability to coordinate and follow up with internal customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong operational understanding of Value Stream Mapping (VSM), including material flow, process flow, quality points, inputs/outputs, and value-added activities.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement through Ishikawa, Pareto, 5 Why, VSM, and other Lean Manufacturing tools.
  • Experience translating process analysis into Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects.
  • Proactive, analytical, and hands‑on approach to identifying and solving manufacturing issues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing/production environment and collaborate closely with operations.
  • Experience in forging and machining is a plus
  • Advanced English.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanics, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering or related.
  • Strong experience in machining, demonstrating history in technical problem solving and quality decision‑making with customer focus.

Works with internal and external resources on specific project assignments. Learns the knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices as they are applied to Cummins.

  • Manufacturing Knowledge - Demonstrates the knowledge of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function’s needs and contribute towards continuous improvement.
  • Process Documentation - Produces written manufacturing procedures in proper sequence which are followed correctly by all approved stakeholders to establish continuity in processes and standardization.
  • Tool and Fixture Design - Selects work‑piece‑holding devices capable of effectively holding parts and products during a manufacturing process to secure their position
