Job summary

Mergon Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to plan, optimise and supervise manufacturing processes to improve efficiency in our Ramos Arizpe operations. You will lead process improvements, be involved with new product introductions, and coordinate with equipment vendors to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, improve and document manufacturing processes.
• Analyse processes for quality improvement and cost reduction and lead projects.
• Lead layout and equipment specification for new product introductions; train operators and team leads.
• Coordinate with toolroom, engineering and external vendors; resolve equipment issues.
• Lead problem-solving teams to address production and quality problems.

What’s the job?

The successful candidate will be a key member of the Manufacturing team with responsibility for planning, optimising and supervising manufacturing processes leading to improved operational efficiency. Key responsibilities will include:

• Developing, evaluating, improving and documenting manufacturing processes
• Analysing manufacturing processes continually for quality improvement and cost reduction opportunities and leading projects to achieve these.
• Working as part of the new product introduction team taking particular responsibility for layout, specifying of ancillary equipment, trialling, training of Operators, Chargehands and Operation Team Leads.
• Working with equipment vendors to resolve equipment issues
• Leading problem solving teams to resolve production and quality problems
• Co-ordinating work with toolroom, engineering and outside vendors as required
• Knowladge in plastics
