Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a seasoned quality and manufacturing engineer to oversee the administration and continual improvement of quality management systems onsite in Torreón, Mexico.

The role focuses on leading lean-driven quality initiatives and cross-functional collaboration to meet stringent quality targets. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in Operations/Quality/Manufacturing Engineering, with expertise in Lean/Six Sigma and personnel leadership.

Formación

• Education in Industrial, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Operations, Quality, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Experience applying Continuous Improvement / Lean / Six Sigma tools; supervisory experience.

Responsabilidades

• Lead projects related to quality assurance strategies and improve manufacturing processes using lean methodologies.
• Support development of quality assurance strategies, processes, guidelines and control plans to ensure quality and reliability of products.
• Lead development and implementation of corrective actions and preventive measures to achieve quality targets.
• Investigate and address trends with internal and external non-conformance.
• Lead and develop multiple teams to assure that quality standards are met.
• Drive data-based changes by reviewing reports with QA, production, management and engineering to solve quality issues.

What you will do:

Oversees the administration and continual improvement of quality management systems.

Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Leading projects related to quality assurance strategies but also to increase manufacturing processes efficiency using lean methodologies.
• Supporting development of quality assurance strategies, processes, guidelines and control plans which assure quality and reliability of manufactured products.
• Leading the development and implementation of corrective action and preventive measures to achieve quality targets.
• Investigating and addressing trends with internal and external non-conformance.
• Leading, managing and developing multiple teams, team leaders, quality specialists and inspectors to assure that quality standards are met.
• Driving change based on data; reviewing reports to review with quality assurance, production, management, and engineering personnel to solve quality issues.

Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.

Problem Solving

Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Quality Management System (QMS)

Knowledge of Quality Management System's (QMS) functions, features, and capabilities; ability to design, implement, test, and maintain Quality Management Systems to consistently meet customer requirements and regulatory compliances.

Relationship Management

Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

Basic Requirements

• Education: Industrial, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Operations, Quality, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Experience in: Application of Continuous Improvement / Lean / Six Sigma tools; Personnel management as a supervisor/leader (line and/or administrative)

English Level: Pre-Advanced

Top candidates will also have

• Master's Degree in: Quality/Productivity, Business Administration (MBA), or Project Management
• Training as a Six Sigma Black Belt
• Leadership Skills: Ability to train personnel, manage teams, and promote a culture of quality at the source.
• English Level: Advanced

Note: This position requires the candidate to work onsite five days a week.
