Job Description Summary

Manages the day-to-day activities and strategic support of employee relations programs for a location. Responsibilities include managing employment, placements, orientation, training, labor relations, compensation, benefits, and employee services. The manager oversees teams and supports the HR business unit head in organizational HR strategies, processes, and practices. Maintains good communication and positive relationships with employees to promote satisfaction and a positive working environment. Provides advice, counseling, and guidance to management and staff on company policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Achieves HR objectives by recruiting, selecting, onboarding, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; managing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
  2. Contributes to strategic planning by providing employee relations insights, preparing action plans, and implementing standards for production, quality, and customer service; resolving issues; conducting audits; identifying trends; and recommending system improvements.
  3. Ensures consistent application of employment policies and employee development through management reviews, advising managers, and monitoring disciplinary and appraisal actions.
  4. Provides management with data analysis on employee relations trends to support planning and control.
  5. Maintains legal compliance by reviewing actions, documenting processes, and adhering to regulations.
  6. Updates and maintains employee and management handbooks with current policies and procedures.
  7. Enhances work environment and satisfaction through exit interviews, staff meetings, trend analysis, and training program development.
  8. Fosters a harmonious work atmosphere by developing relationships among employees, labor, and management.
  9. Documents actions through logs, reports, and records management.
  10. Supports organizational success by accommodating diverse requests and assisting others in achieving results.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.
