Job summary

Merit Medical, a global leader in medical devices, seeks a Facilities Coordinator at its Tijuana facility. The role manages staff, coordinates construction and equipment needs, and maintains critical building systems and records.

You will work with management to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance across the site. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least six years in facilities coordination, with strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

• Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• A minimum of six years of facilities coordination and maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of maintenance methods and techniques.
• Ability to resolve problems on a timely basis.
• Ability to work effectively with people at all levels and be a team member.
• Knowledge of safety related issues and principles.
• Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
• Demonstrated computer skills, preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and related software.

Responsibilities

• Interviewing, hiring and training facility staff and evaluating performance.
• Coordinate with contractors on construction needs and oversee project plans.
• Maintain facility blueprints and coordinate HVAC and other utilities.
• Prepare facilities maintenance reports for corporate use.
• Respond to internal requests and coordinate equipment installation and movement across facilities.
• Ensure safety goals are met and records are kept up to date.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED

1. Manages department personnel by interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating job performance, disciplining, scheduling work and other related responsibilities.
2. Project leader on new construction projects and plans, and coordinates with outside contractors regarding construction needs.
3. Collects and stores information on facility blueprints.
4. Coordinates the maintenance of heating, ventilation and air conditioning of offices and facilities and resolves complaints as they occur.
5. Advises and consults with managerial and supervisory staff regarding hazardous communication issues and maintains records.
6. Prepares facilities maintenance reports for corporate use.
7. Responds to requests for assistance from other departments, attempting to meet the needs described on a timely basis.
8. Coordinates and responds to divisions within Merit for installation and movement of equipment for building electrical, plumbing, compressed air, or any other utility needs.
9. Performs a variety of related duties to ensure that facilities are maintained and that safety goals are achieved, as required.
