Job Description

Key Responsibilities May Include:

  1. Design and execute the regional Decarbonization Strategy in collaboration with regional supply chain managers, aligning with Brambles' global sustainability objectives.
  2. Monitor and ensure compliance with regional sustainability legislation, assessing its impact on supply chain operations and adapting strategies as necessary.
  3. Lead research and evaluation of new decarbonization technologies, including alternative fuels, emissions reduction innovations, and driver efficiency training, for potential integration into the regional supply chain.
  4. Manage and oversee decarbonization projects within the region, including participation in industry collaborations and securing funding opportunities for decarbonization initiatives.
  5. Report regional progress on decarbonization goals to the Sustainability and Global Decarbonization Teams, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and sharing best practices.
  6. Collaborate with regional supply chain management to scope, evaluate, and implement decarbonization projects that align with regional objectives and deliver measurable results.
  7. Partner with local service centers and transportation partners to promote decarbonization best practices and foster engagement in achieving emissions reduction targets.
  8. Work with suppliers and customers on joint decarbonization projects, sharing knowledge and solutions to collectively reduce emissions.
  9. Support continuous improvement efforts within the region, driving progress toward emissions reduction targets while ensuring cost-efficiency and operational effectiveness.

Decarbonisation is a strategic priority endorsed by the Brambles Board, supported by public emissions reduction targets reported externally to investors and stakeholders. It is a key area within the Global Supply Chain and the Brambles of the Future strategy, and it influences ELT remuneration. Waste and water strategic priorities as part of Brambles’ sustainability program and Regenerative Supply Chain ambitions will also fall under the global decarbonisation team.

Reporting to the Director, Americas Decarbonisation, this role supports the coordination, execution, and reporting of strategic roadmaps to achieve decarbonisation, zero product waste, and water targets in the Americas, covering CHEP and subcontracted operations, fleets, and transport decarbonisation levers, in collaboration with relevant functions.

This role primarily focuses on the Latin America and US markets, with secondary support for Canada.

  1. Identify, define, and manage decarbonisation, waste, and water projects in the Americas to meet 2030 roadmaps, collaborating with relevant functions. Category managers in sourcing and procurement will handle procurement activities for relevant initiatives.
  2. Coordinate cross-functional efforts to ensure successful delivery of decarbonisation initiatives.
  3. Stay updated on Latin America and US legislation regarding sustainability and climate requirements, assessing their impact on supply chains and funding opportunities.
  4. Keep informed about decarbonisation, waste, and water technology trends, especially freight decarbonisation developments.
  5. Support the implementation of new procedures and practices to advance decarbonisation goals, such as renewable energy criteria in contracts.
  6. Assist in validating regional emissions data produced by the ESG Finance team based on regional market conditions.
  7. Help prepare financial budgets and 4-year plans for decarbonisation, waste, and water, collaborating with finance teams.
  8. Participate in customer projects and sessions to share best practices and foster collaboration.
  9. Support supplier engagement programs related to decarbonisation, waste, and water in Latin America and the US.
  10. Maintain detailed project management and KPI reports within the Global Decarbonisation Governance Framework.

Contribute to cross-regional knowledge sharing to address operational and transport decarbonisation challenges and lessons learned.
