Job summary

Carl Zeiss Visión Manufactura de México, S. de R.L. de C.V. is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer in Tijuana, BC, to develop and optimize reliability strategies across critical equipment.

You will analyze failures, implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, monitor key indicators (MTTR, MTTF, OEE), and collaborate with Engineering, Automation, and Production teams to improve asset uptime and process reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
• 2–5 years in industrial maintenance, maintenance engineering, or reliability engineering.
• Experience in troubleshooting and failure analysis.
• Knowledge of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance strategies.
• Knowledge of RCA, 8D and 5 Whys.
• Experience with maintenance performance indicators such as MTTR, MTTF, OEE, and asset availability.
• Familiarity with industrial automation and control systems.
• Experience with SAP or equivalent CMMS is desirable.
• Technical English is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical reports and communicate progress.
• Ensure safety, quality, and internal procedure compliance.

• Develop, implement, and optimize preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies.
• Monitor and analyze maintenance and equipment performance indicators, including MTTR, MTTF, OEE, and equipment availability.
• Perform equipment criticality assessments to prioritize maintenance activities and improve asset reliability.
• Lead continuous improvement projects focused on reducing equipment downtime, maintenance costs, and recurring failures.
