Cummins Inc. in Mexico is seeking a Tool Room/Maintenance technician to service, support, and maintain equipment required by a tool maker.

The role involves manufacturing components with machine tool equipment and reading part drawings with limited guidance, while adhering to safety protocols for electricity and other energy sources. You will read diagrams and specifications, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and participate in TPM teams to improve quality, safety, and process flows

  • Perform and document maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
  • Operate tool room equipment including CNC machines, lathes, grinders, milling machines, drills.
  • Use measuring devices and verify dimensions per diagrams and specs.
  • Support uptime and downtime analysis and continuous improvement.

  • Performs quality inspections.
  • Delivery Ability to run all tool room equipment including Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machines, lathes, grinders, milling machines, drill presses and shapers.
  • Ability to use measuring devices, layout work and set up of tool room machines to build or fabricate details and assemble as needed.
  • Repairs and maintains manufacturing equipment.
  • Performs and documents preventive, emergency, corrective and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks.
  • Identify and reduce manufacturing constraints.
  • Schedule maintenance activities around production requirements.
  • Solve problems and improve processes.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities.
  • Teamwork Communicates effectively with the assigned team and with all support teams.
  • Completes training and personal development in line with business requirements.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
