The Loss Prevention Specialist (LPS) is a key high-level hourly associate position in Amazon Fulfillment Centers (FCs). The LP Specialist leads efforts to provide security services and protect assets such as lives, buildings, equipment, inventory, data, and intellectual property in a designated fulfillment center. The LP Specialist reports to the Loss Prevention Manager and supports the FC Operational team and cross-functional teams across the organization.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Enhance, track, and report on key performance metrics to improve performance and achieve desired outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls related to Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements.
- Assist in investigations of theft and fraud, conducting interviews as needed.
- Inspire and lead performance excellence within the security team.
- Align actions with organizational vision and values, and communicate these effectively.
- Meet or exceed objectives aligned with the security service model.
- Identify and implement security best practices within the FC.
- Serve as the department’s liaison and subject matter expert for facility management.
- Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to improve processes and efficiency.
- Partner with internal customers to evaluate and improve security services, processes, and initiatives.
- Coordinate data collection and analysis from multiple FCs to generate strategic insights.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in security, asset protection, audit, risk management, or related fields.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel (intermediate level).
- Willing to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in English.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma concepts; certification preferred.
- Experience with databases such as SQL, MySQL, Access, and reporting tools.
- Interviewing and interrogation experience; Wicklander and Zulawski certification a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree or in progress to obtain one within a year.
- Experience with warehouse or distribution center operations.
- Knowledge of workplace violence prevention and business continuity.
- Understanding of physical security systems, investigation techniques, and loss mitigation.
- Ability to work independently with remote supervision.
- Strong communication skills in both Spanish and English.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
- Analytical skills focused on performance and results.
