The Loss Prevention Specialist (LPS) is a key high-level hourly associate position in Amazon Delivery Centers (DCs). The LPS leads efforts to efficiently and effectively provide security services and protect assets, including lives, buildings, equipment, inventory, data, and intellectual property, within a designated fulfillment center. The LP Specialist reports to the Loss Prevention Manager responsible for their facility and supports the DC operational team as well as cross-functional teams across the organization.
Key job responsibilities
- Enhance, track, and report on key performance indicators to facilitate performance improvements and achieve desired outcomes on time.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls related to Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements.
- Assist with investigations of internal and external theft and fraud; conduct interviews when appropriate.
- Inspire performance excellence among security services team members.
- Align performance and actions with the organization's vision and values, and clearly articulate them.
- Meet or surpass objectives aligned with the security service model.
- Identify, promote, and implement security best practices within the DC.
- Serve as the department’s liaison and subject matter expert on security, keeping facility management informed of key issues, strategies, and performance.
- Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements and increase efficiency.
- Partner with internal customers to evaluate current and future security services, processes, and initiatives.
- Coordinate data collection from multiple DCs, analyze data, and generate strategic insights.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree; 2+ years experience in security services, asset protection, audit, risk management, inventory control, quality assurance, or related fields.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel (intermediate level).
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in English; bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma concepts; certification desired.
- Experience with databases such as SQL, MySQL, Access, and reporting tools.
- Interviewing and interrogation experience; Wicklander and Zulawski certification a plus.
- Experience with warehouse or distribution center services.
- Knowledge of workplace violence prevention and business continuity strategies.
- Understanding of physical security systems, investigation techniques, and loss mitigation in distribution centers.
- Ability to work independently with remote supervision.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
- Analytical skills in performance-based, results-oriented settings.
