Loss Prevention Specialist (LPS) Role

The Loss Prevention Specialist (LPS) is a key high-level hourly associate position within Amazon Fulfillment Centers (FCs). In this role, you will lead efforts to provide security services and protect assets, including lives, buildings, equipment, inventory, data, and intellectual property, in a designated FC. You will report to the Loss Prevention Manager responsible for your facility and support the FC operational team and cross-functional teams across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Enhance, track, and report on key performance indicators to enable performance improvements and achieve desired outcomes on time.
  2. Ensure compliance with internal controls related to Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements.
  3. Assist with investigations of theft and fraud, conducting interviews as appropriate.
  4. Inspire performance excellence among security team members.
  5. Align performance and actions with the organization’s vision and values, and clearly articulate them.
  6. Meet or surpass objectives aligned with the security service model.
  7. Identify, promote, and implement security best practices within the FC.
  8. Serve as the department’s liaison and security subject matter expert for facility management, keeping them informed of key issues, strategies, and performance.
  9. Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements and efficiency.
  10. Partner with internal customers to evaluate current and future security services, processes, and initiatives.
  11. Coordinate data collection from multiple FCs, analyze data, and generate strategic insights.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2+ years experience in security services, asset protection, audit, risk management, inventory control, or related fields.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel (intermediate level).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic to intermediate English proficiency (B1 level).
  • Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma concepts; certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of databases (SQL, MySQL, Access) and reporting tools.
  • Experience with interviewing and interrogation; Wicklander and Zulawski certification is a plus.
  • On track to obtain a bachelor’s degree within one year or higher education equivalent.
  • Experience in warehouse or distribution center environments.
  • Knowledge of workplace violence prevention and business continuity planning.
  • Understanding of physical security systems, investigation techniques, and loss mitigation in distribution centers.
  • Ability to work independently with remote supervision.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
  • Analytical skills in performance measurement and results orientation.
  • Proficiency in both Spanish and English.
