A major automotive supplier in El Salto, Jalisco is seeking a Logistics Specialist Production Planner to optimize production planning processes. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience, particularly in logistic project management and mastery of ERP systems like SAP. Logistics Specialist Production Planner (Sr.)

Location: El Salto, Jalisco.

Job Objective

Continuously track, manage changes and optimize the execution of a production plan in clearly defined contexts. Support complex production planning in a production operation, focused on attaining the required production output within specified resource constraints.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Continuously track, manage changes and optimize the execution of a complex production plan.
  2. Track plan fulfillment, including checks regarding material availability, production scheduling, order release, material reservation and production deadlines.
  3. Support execution of complex production planning related exception handling and error correction, especially within the ERP system, initiating logistic escalation if necessary.
  4. Identify the causes that could lead to the delay of specific deliveries, find viable solutions and inform the sales schedule.
  5. Align frequently with material management, production and sales planning, reviewing customer orders, production capabilities and material availability.
  6. Support the special needs for SOP and EOP products.
  7. Assure and maintain master data accuracy and performance measurements (KPIs).
  8. Act as the central contact person and first‑level support for production planning processes in the plant, especially focused on the information flow within the ERP system.
  9. Support training measures and knowledge transfer of standardized production planning processes to the production planners and supervisors in the plant.
  10. Measure and monitor production planning target KPIs in the plant and execute countermeasures in close alignment with the supervisor.
  11. Plan production and schedule complex production sequences, using the ERP system and considering lead times, shipping dates, sales forecasts, customer orders and backorders.
  12. Evaluate capacity loads for complex production lines.
  13. Involve in optimization projects concerning production planning processes.
  14. Train and support the production planner to fulfill the required tasks according to work routines.
  15. Provide first‑level support for production planners in the plant and act as the central contact for production planning processes.
  16. Regularly analyze and, if necessary, correct relevant master data for production planning.
  17. Analyze optimization potential within production planning processes and implement according to central standards.
  18. Support the project team in the I2P phase regarding production planning and steering.
  19. Specify and implement system‑based change requests, including requirement gathering, gap analysis, testing, user training and application documentation.
  20. Document and configure production planning related SAP modules to meet business requirements.
Project Management / Key User
  1. Manage and lead high‑complexity logistics projects from technical and organizational perspectives, including rollout and sustainable implementation of corporate standard processes.
  2. Define, plan, coordinate and monitor tasks within project teams using defined methods and systems.
  3. Prepare and further develop concepts for improving recording, analysis, modelling, presentation and management of process‑related data.
  4. Continuously monitor project success regarding time, budget and output quality and drive execution of defined actions.
  5. Coach and train the project team and/or trigger additional trainings.
  6. Negotiate general logistics conditions with suppliers, service providers and customers (e.g., JIT/JIS processes, turnaround periods, packaging).
