This position will be multi-faceted providing support for the business conducted in its Monterrey, Mexico office, and is part of the North America (Canada, Mexico, and United States of America) regional logistics as well as supporting regional purchasing activities, having close cross-functional collaboration among the business. By joining this team, you will have the chance to work in an international environment involving different cultures and different challenges.

Your responsibilities

  • Releasing purchase order to the suppliers in line with Purchase requisition in timely Manner
  • Expediting Order Acknowledgement from suppliers
  • Developing suppliers within Mexico for sourcing Bought items, Fabrication parts and Casting & forging Parts.
  • Floating RFQ to suppliers with Detail Scope of supply including drawings, Inspection test plans.
  • Negotiating with suppliers on Cost, delivery, payment terms and Incoterms. Price agreement with suppliers for long term.
  • Cost savings by sourcing quotes from multiple suppliers for best cost and lead times.
  • Vendor Development and registering them in ERP with all necessary documents.
  • Door-to-door transportation coordination across land, air, and sea modes, with a primary focus on land freight.
  • Daily tracking and follow-up of shipments, from supplier release through transportation, customs brokerage, and final delivery.
  • Extensive knowledge of required import documentation, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Review and validation of customs pediments, including approval processes, and general understanding of NOMs and automatic notices.
  • Preparation of documentation for final deliveries.
  • Creation and follow-up of non-conformities.
  • Preparation of transportation quotes and support to internal clients regarding logistics and specific inquiries.
  • Ensuring timely deliveries through optimal resource utilization.

What you bring

  • Buying and Planning experience required, Experience with international suppliers is desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or Engineering preferred. Equivalent experience is acceptable.
  • Coordination of final deliveries to customers, including both LTL (Less Than Truckload) and FTL (Full Truckload) shipments.
  • At least 2 years of proven experience in import/export compliance activities.
  • Familiarity with Annex 22.
  • Knowledge of Oracle/Dynamics 365 based applications, as well as Microsoft applications, is preferred.
  • English language skills are a plus.
  • Individual should possess a sense of urgency, be customer-driven, and motivated.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, good time management skills.
  • Positive demeanor, good with colleagues, calm in high pressure situations.
  • Candidate shall have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Organization skills and ability to prioritize work based on customer requirements.
  • Excellent coordination and collaboration skills.
