Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Loan Processor to serve as the operational quarterback, shepherding investment loans from signed term sheet through closing. You'll manage the complete loan process while coordinating between borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, and third-party vendors. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to catch and resolve issues before they impact loan timelines. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment working with entrepreneurial borrowers and innovative lending products.
Key Responsibilities
- Process investment property loans from application through closing, serving as primary point of contact for borrowers
- Review and analyze documentation including property valuations, rent rolls, renovation budgets, entity formation documents, and financial statements
- Meticulously review all loan files for accuracy and completeness prior to submission to ensure zero errors or discrepancies
- Proactively identify potential issues early in the process and develop solutions before they become problems
- Calculate key metrics including DSCR, LTV, and ARV ratios with precision and accuracy
- Order and track third-party reports (appraisals, title, inspections, insurance, credit) and coordinate vendor deliverables
- Prepare comprehensive loan packages for underwriting submission, ensuring 100% accuracy and completeness
- Address underwriting conditions promptly with thorough research and problem-solving approach
- Coordinate closing logistics with lenders, title companies, attorneys, and borrowers
- Proactively communicate status updates and potential obstacles to all stakeholders before issues arise
- Maintain pipeline tracking and provide daily status reports to stakeholders
- Ensure regulatory compliance with federal, state, and company guidelines through detailed file review
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years loan processing experience, preferably in investment property, private money, bridge, DSCR, or ground-up construction loans
- Strong understanding of real estate investment terminology, loan structures, title commitments, and entity structures (LLCs, trusts)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with proven ability to catch errors and discrepancies before submission
- Proactive problem-solving mindset with ability to anticipate issues and develop solutions independently
- Technical proficiency with CRMs, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, and loan processing software
- Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously while maintaining 100% accuracy and quality standards
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with customer service orientation
