Formación

  • 2+ years experience in international freight/cargo customs policies preferred.

Descripción del empleo

Involves the completion of administrative tasks and coordination relating to the front-line operation which may include data entry, ramp activities, sort activities, trace activities, despatch activities and local customer service. While operational tasks may be part of these roles, the majority of time is spent on office-based activities.
Lead or senior levels of these positions may:

  1. Handle escalated or more complex issues,
  2. Coordinate team activities or those of agency contract staff,
  3. Support supervisor or manager activities,
  4. Support the design, review and implementation of processes and procedure.

General job description:
Under limited supervision performs the following activities:

  1. Responsible for the movement of packages and documentation within FedEx facilities and/or customs/forwarders.
  2. Maintains customs documentation well organized and properly filed.
  3. Distributes relevant customs paperwork to appropriate FedEx departments, customs raters, and forwarders as required.
  4. Receives customs releases and maintains adequate control as specified by customs regulations; scans all outgoing A.M. releases, ensuring proper packages are going out and improperly scanned and stickered packages (unreleased from customs) are not sent; and prepares in-bond transfers.
  5. Performs sorting, baggage support at airport and station, and retrieves air freight from carriers as required.
  6. Pulls copy of AWBS of overages to ensure adjustments.
  7. May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
Minimum education:

  1. High School degree/Equivalent
  2. Good English Skills

Minimum Experience:
  1. Two (2) years of previous experience in international freight/cargo customs policies, procedures, rules, and laws preferred.
  2. Knowledge of airport and customs clearance procedures preferred.
  3. Forklift handling experience.
  4. CRT experience preferred.

Minimum Required skills:
  1. Ability to lift 70 lbs. (32 kgs) and to maneuver any single package weighing up to 150 lbs. (68 kgs) with appropriate equipment.
  2. Verifiable ability to capture data in different systems such as Office - Advanced Excel - and WMS / JDA / eGLS (25/35 WPM), data entry and / or general office skills.
  3. Personable and good written and verbal communication skills. Driver's license. General office skills and computer literate.
