Involves the completion of administrative tasks and coordination relating to the front-line operation which may include data entry, ramp activities, sort activities, trace activities, despatch activities and local customer service. While operational tasks may be part of these roles, the majority of time is spent on office-based activities.
General Job Description
Advise and offer products and services to customers to achieve the Organization's sales objectives, as well as the development of frequent customers and Credit.
- Performs a variety of over-the-counter customer service, administrative and clerical duties requiring direct and indirect customer interface.
- Assists customers by tracing packages, answering questions regarding FedEx services, and providing over-the-counter and phone service.
- Checks packages for proper labelling, legality of content including weight/size, wrapping, insurance values, and compliance with required customs documentation at destination (including hazardous material considerations).
- Collaborates with budget, income/expenses, and supports profitability optimization of branches through resource optimization.
- Responsible for opening and closing the branch, maintaining a clean work area, and ensuring customer service times are respected.
- Identifies new customers or additional business opportunities, opens new accounts, obtains additional shipments, and submits sales leads.
- Ensures excellent customer experience by developing and providing adequate solutions to different types of customer problems.
- Follows commercial and administrative processes and communicates with involved areas; safeguards company values and prevents deviations or mishandling.
- Requests necessary supplies for daily documentation and packaging of shipments.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Education: High School degree/Equivalent. Language: Proficiency in English.
Minimum Experience: Two (2) years in customer service with a sales focus; knowledge of cash handling; experience in a FedEx SCS Warehouse and knowledge of key customer requirements.
Minimum Required Skills:
- Physical ability to lift/maneuver packages up to 75 lbs / 34 kg and up to 150 lbs / 68 kg with equipment
- Accuracy, attention to detail, planning and organizing skills
- Interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to coordinate sequences of tasks for self and others; translate customer instructions into requirements
- Technology proficiency (scanner/printer/intranet) with basic maintenance ability
- General office skills (typing, filing, computer literacy)
- Clear, articulate speaking voice and neat appearance
