Involves providing courteous and efficient package delivery, sorting, and collection services, ensuring the delivery of packages by completing necessary paperwork and recording shipments in accordance with FedEx Express service standards.

General Job Description

Under general guidance, completes the following tasks:

• Provides efficient and safe delivery and pick-up of packages and documents, representing the company professionally.
• Operates non-articulated vehicles safely and efficiently, complying with all governmental and corporate procedures.
• Accurately selects and inspects assigned packages, reporting stop counts and miss-sorts.
• Seeks additional business from current customers, attempts to gain new business, and informs sales of significant customer or competitor actions.
• Answers customer questions about FedEx services and keeps customers informed.
• Ensures packages conform to FedEx features of service, are properly labeled, and paperwork is complete and neat.
• Determines legality of packages, including special requirements for dangerous goods and international shipments, and separates packages by service type and destination.
• Scans packages according to prescribed procedures, demonstrating proficiency in service features and equipment.
• Ensures customers have adequate FedEx shipping materials.
• Loads and unloads aircraft, containers, and vehicles, operating mechanized ramp equipment.
• Performs minor vehicle maintenance and maintains a neat personal appearance.
• Provides and collects necessary paperwork related to pickups and deliveries.
• Ensures security of FedEx and customer property, including cash, packages, and equipment.
• Collects tax invoices for shipments processed by customs when necessary.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic English skills preferred.

Experience

• One year of experience driving 3.5-ton trucks.
• Possess appropriate license per country regulations.
• Good driving record.
• Must be 21 years or older.

Skills

• Ability to lift 55 lbs. (25 kg) and maneuver packages weighing up to 150 lbs. (68 kg) with appropriate equipment.
• Good verbal and written communication, human relations, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to complete Reading, Map Reading, Sorting, and Math sections of the Basic Skills Test.
• Customer-oriented with good organizational skills.
• Problem-solving, accuracy, attention to detail, planning, and organizing skills.
• Ability to work variable shifts.
