Job summary

Qualcomm Intl Inc., Mexico Branch Office is seeking a Linux Administrator (IT Senior Engineer) to manage UNIX-based hosts across a distributed production environment, including Red Hat, Ubuntu, SUSE, Solaris, and VMware. You will troubleshoot, implement configurations, and ensure high availability.

Responsibilities include deploying hardware, using Ansible for automation, configuring Veritas cluster and Pacemaker, and coordinating with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
• OR 5+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Manage Linux, Solaris, and VMware production footprint across locations.
• Configure and deploy hardware (HP/DL, Sun, Dell enclosures/blade).
• Use Ansible for automation and configuration management.
• Configure Veritas cluster and Pacemaker for high availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues affecting service availability.
• Coordinate with multiple teams across the company.

• Administration of physical and virtual infrastructure UNIX based hosts in complex heterogeneous environments
• Fundamentals Storage technologies,SANand RAID concepts
• Datacenter Operations
• Hands on experience in configuring and deploying Hardware devices like HP DL/BL Series Servers, Sun Hardware, Super Micro and Dell - Enclosures/Blade hardware platform
• Configuration tools like Ansibleisrequired
• Investigation,diagnosisand resolution of technical issues affecting service availability
• knowledge on server PXE installation, kickstart configurations, patching and package management
• Responsibilities includemanagingservers across the locations which includes Linux, Solaris, and a footprint of VMware in a critical production environment
• Knowledge on configuring Veritas cluster & Pacemaker
• Act as Escalation point for engineers for technical and process related issues
• Partnering with different representatives across the company
• Knowledge transfer among multiple team members and sharing of service responsibilities, Rotational hand-offs
• Knowledge of one or more scripting languages:csh,sh, bash, python,perl

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
• OR 5+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.

*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
