Job summary

JoVE is seeking an Acquisition Editor to recruit new authors and content for JoVE Journal, guiding them through manuscript submission and collaborating with Guest Editors to create Methods Collections. You will network with scientists to drive submissions and work with the peer review team to expedite publication.

You will play a central role in meeting monthly acquisition targets while contributing to JoVE's mission to accelerate science education worldwide.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Life Sciences is required.
• Fluent English written and verbal communication is required.
• Results-driven with ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational, influencing and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with the publishing process is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify and recruit new authors for JoVE Journal.
• Guide authors through the manuscript submission process.
• Collaborate with Guest Editors to build Methods Collections (special issue).
• Establish and maintain a network of scientists and journal authors to grow submissions.
• Collaborate with the peer review team to facilitate publication of manuscripts.
• Meet or exceed monthly acquisition targets.
