Job summary

Becton, Dickinson and Company is seeking a Production Supervisor in Mexico to lead daily production operations, ensure safety and quality, and drive continuous improvement. The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and adherence to BD Excellence programs on the manufacturing floor.

The ideal candidate will manage staffing and training, communicate across teams, and uphold policies while pushing for higher performance and safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BA/BS in Science, Industrial management, Business, Engineering or related field required.
• In lieu of BA/BS, 3 years supervisory experience in manufacturing preferred.
• 3 years leadership experience preferred.
• 3 years manufacturing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Address safety issues or incidents immediately on the production floor.
• Spend at least 75% of time on the production floor leading associates.
• Responsible for staffing and training plans within the department.
• Provide regular, timely, and specific feedback to associates.
• Provide a learning environment and challenge associates to meet higher expectations.
• Implement BD Excellence components and programs within the manufacturing unit.
• Ensure open flow of communication between production associates and management.
• Ensure fair and consistent application of company and department policies; involve HR when needed.
• Actively participate and support continuous improvement activities.
• Collaborate with Production Planning to establish production schedules and monitor performance vs. schedule.
• Track production metrics and communicate progress to associates and management.
• Lead daily production operations.
• Other duties as required to support business needs.

Job Responsibilities

Representar las inquietudes de los asociados de producción ante la gerencia, así como las inquietudes de la gerencia ante los asociados de producción. Ensure an open flow of communication exists between production associates and management. Represent concerns of production associates to management, as well as management concerns to production associates.
• Asegurar la aplicación justa y consistente de las políticas y prácticas de la empresa y del departamento. Trabajar con los asociados para resolver problemas e inquietudes sobre las relaciones con los empleados; involucrar a RR.HH. cuando sea necesario. Ensure fair and consistent application of company and departmental policies and practices. Works with associates to resolve employee relations issues and concerns; involves HR when needed.
• Participar activamente y apoyar las actividades de mejora continua. Actively participate and support continuous improvement activities.
• Colaborar con planeador de producción para establecer cronogramas de producción, monitorear el desempeño en comparación con el cronograma para el departamento. Collaborate with Production Planning to establish production schedules, monitor performance versus schedule for the department.
• Realizar un seguimiento de los métricos de producción para garantizar que se cumplan los objetivos del departamento. Comunica estos métricos y el progreso a los asociados y la gerencia. Track production metrics to ensure that department goals are being met. Communicates these metrics and progress to associates and management.
• Lidera las operaciones de producción diarias. Lead daily production operations.
• Otras tareas según sea necesario para satisfacer las necesidades del negocio. Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.

Education and Experience

• Diploma de escuela preparatoria obligatorio / High School Diploma / GED: Required
• Licenciatura en ciencias (obligatoria) en administración industrial, administración de empresas, ingeniería o un campo relacionado / BA/BS Degree - Required - Science, Industrial management, Business, Engineering or a related field
• En lugar de un título de Licenciatura, se requieren 3 años de experiencia de supervisión en un entorno de manufactura / In lieu of an BA/BS degree, 3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required
• 3 años de experiencia en liderazgo de personal: Preferible / 3 yrs People Leading experience: Preferred
• 3 años de experiencia en fabricación: Obligatorio / 3 yrs Manufacturing experience: Required
