A global healthcare leader is seeking a LATAM Legal Manager to support legal matters in Latin America. This role includes managing contracts, leading legal strategies, and advising on compliance. The ideal candidate has proven legal experience in LATAM, strong business acumen, and the ability to work collaboratively in complex environments. Candidates must be fluent in English and have exceptional analytical and negotiation skills.

Formación

  • Proven legal counseling experience in Mexico and major LATAM markets.
  • Experience managing projects or teams.
  • In-house counsel experience in life sciences is preferred.

Job Description - LATAM Legal Manager

Responsibilities

  • Support all legal matters in LATAM, including litigation, claims before Ethics Committees, especially in Colombia and Mexico.
  • Lead counterfeit and compounding strategies across LATAM with cross-functional teams, understanding regulatory, criminal, and administrative aspects, and aligning actions with the Associate Legal Director.
  • Streamline and optimize legal processes such as Contract Management, Corporate Governance, Legal updates, and Litigation Management, with a user-centered approach.
  • Develop and implement policies regarding legal procedures.
  • Manage, review, and authorize contracts related to leases, licenses, real estate, employment, mergers, acquisitions, marketing, and business development.
  • Lead high-risk, complex projects, including licensing, acquisitions, mergers, and technology transfer agreements.
  • Advise management on legal matters, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
  • Provide strategic legal guidance to all business units, focusing on government sales, product launches, marketing, and lifecycle management, considering LATAM's regulatory environment.
  • Manage Outside Counsel efficiently, ensuring quality and controlling costs.
  • Promote a culture of Ethics and Compliance, advising on anti-trust, fraud, IP, and regulatory issues.
  • Anticipate and resolve complex legal issues proactively.

Job Requirements

  • Proven legal counseling experience in Mexico and major LATAM markets.
  • Strong legal and business acumen.
  • Experience managing projects or teams.
  • Good judgment and ability to operate in complex environments.
  • Experience handling complex legal issues for corporate clients; in-house counsel experience in life sciences is preferred.
  • Cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Public speaking and training skills.
  • Fluent in English.
