RESUMEN DEL PUESTO

Legal Counsel for heavylift and transport projects

Competitive salary (depending on experience)

Working at Rosharon, Texas or other Latam offices

We are seeking a Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team reporting directly to the Managing Counsel for the region. This role is integral to our organization, providing legal advice on a range of issues, ensuring we always operate within the law. The ideal candidate will possess a strong business acumen, exceptional negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of corporate, commercial, labour and employment law.

Do you excel in mastering legal topics and applying these in a commercial environment? Our legal teams support Mammoet projects throughout the world, playing a crucial role in making sure we operate to the highest possible standards in local and international law.

FUNCIONES

1. Assist the Managing Counsel in providing legal support to management on all company-related matters.
2. Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as external regulations and laws.
3. Assist the Managing Counsel in management of litigation files and negotiation of settlements.
4. Prepare and review legal documents including contracts, agreements, policies, and procedures.
5. Assist the Managing Counsel in the giving of proactive advice to Human Resources on rights and obligations in labour and employment matters including assistance with preliminary dispute resolution and management of any subsequent litigation arising therefrom.
6. Stay current on laws and regulations affecting the company.
7. Conduct legal research and provide practical business-oriented information to the Managing Counsel.

REQUERIMIENTOS

1. Expert level experience in legal affairs. Professional level experience in contract management, international commercial law, and legal systems.
2. Understanding of applicable law, including corporate law, commercial law, labour/employment law, and industry-specific regulations.
3. English and Portuguese or Spanish fluent proficiency verbal and written.
4. Evidence of experience in a similar role, ideally in any/some of the following sectors: civil engineering, construction, renewables, oil and gas, offshore, ports and mining.
5. 5 years of relevant work experience.
6. Law degree from an accredited law school.
