About the Job

HireHawk is seeking a Legal Assistant to join our team and strengthen legal case operations. You will support attorneys and paralegals by managing case documentation, coordinating communications, and ensuring all filings and deadlines are met with precision. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrives in a remote environment where confidentiality and accuracy are paramount.

You will manage sensitive case files, prepare pleadings, and track litigation schedules while working directly with colleagues and external parties. This role requires strong judgment, reliability, and the ability to follow structured processes consistently.

Core Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate case files, calendars, and deadlines for active matters.
  • Draft pleadings, discovery responses, and demand packages.
  • Organize and manage intake data, contracts, and supporting evidence.
  • Coordinate communications with clients, counsel, insurers, and agencies.
  • Request and track medical records, expert reports, and other documentation.
  • File legal documents in compliance with California and federal court requirements.
  • Provide timely case updates and status reports to colleagues.
  • Safeguard sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality.
Must-Haves for the Role
  • 2–4 years of experience as a legal assistant, case manager, or paralegal.
  • Background in employment law or personal injury matters.
  • Proficiency with case management software and legal documentation.
  • Knowledge of California and federal court filing procedures.
  • Strong English communication skills, written and verbal.
