A leading educational institution based in Hong Kong is seeking a Lecturer/Part-time Lecturer to develop and implement training programs on End-of-Life Care. This role requires a Master's degree in relevant fields and at least 3 years of experience in related areas. The successful candidate will also support coaching for organizations and contribute to practice-based research. Bilingual proficiency in Cantonese and English is essential for this position, and the contract may last for one year with possibilities of renewal.

Applications are invited for the position of Lecturer / Part-time Lecturer (holding the functional titles of Trainer / Part-time Trainer) in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (Ref.: 532583). The appointment is expected to commence as soon as possible, for a one-year temporary contract or a two-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. A highly competitive salary, commensurate with qualifications and experience, will be offered, along with annual leave and medical benefits. (The two-year fixed-term appointment includes contract-end gratuity and a university contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of the basic salary.)

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement training programmes on End-of-Life Care (EoLC) for:
    • Healthcare and social care professionals
    • Family caregivers and volunteers
    • The general public
  • Provide coaching and capacity-building support in an EoLC project for NGOs in Hong Kong serving persons with disabilities.
    • Target trainees include NGO management, professionals, front-line staff, and volunteers.
  • Participate in practice-based research and educational innovation related to EoLC.
  • Assist the evaluation of the effectiveness of training and educational programmes.
  • Keep abreast of update evidence-based training content on EoLC aligned with the project’s objectives.
  • Support other training and project-related activities as assigned.
Qualifications And Experience

  • A Master’s degree or above in Social Work, Public Health, Mental Health, Psychology, Behavioral Health, Counseling, Nursing, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in clinical practice in EoLC or disability services.
  • Experience or strong interest in teaching/training is preferred, especially in related areas such as:
    • Non-profit management
    • Social services management
    • Organizational development
    • Social and public administration
Good command of written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese) and English.
