An established industry player is offering an exciting opportunity for university students through the Lean Challenge Summer Program. This role allows participants to engage in a local and international competition focused on Continuous Improvement Projects. Students will gain valuable vocational experience while working on real-world challenges in a manufacturing environment. With a strong emphasis on Lean Manufacturing principles, participants will enhance their skills and knowledge, all while working alongside top talents from various countries. This is a unique chance to grow and make a meaningful impact in a collaborative setting.

Formación

• Seeking students in last semesters of engineering or related fields.
• Fluent in English for presentations and communication.

This position reports to

Project Operations Manager

Your role and responsibilities

Lean Challenge is a local and international competition where university students develop Continuous Improvement Projects based on methodology and principles of Quality Wins and Lean Manufacturing.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain vocational experience through a temporary work placement. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.

The work model for the role is: onsite.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions in San Luis Potosi.

You will be mainly accountable for:

1. Lead a real Continuous Improvement project in a manufacturing environment.
2. Receive specialized training in Lean & CI methodologies.
3. Work in teams to solve industry challenges.
4. Present weekly updates to ABB managers.
5. Compete locally and internationally with top talents from Mexico, Puerto Rico, Brazil, and the U.S.

Qualifications for the role

We are looking for innovative minds eager to grow. If you meet these requirements, this challenge is for you!

1. Last three semesters of Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Systems, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Industrial Design, or related fields.
2. Advanced, fluent, and conversational English (spoken & written). All presentations are in English, including the international final.
3. Strong communication and presentation skills.
4. Passion for Lean Manufacturing & process improvement.
