Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Deployment (Hoshin Kanri): Define and execute the Operational Excellence roadmap aligned with plant goals for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Ceramic Process Optimization: Lead waste-reduction projects targeting scrap (green/fired breakage, glazing defects, shade/caliber variations) and optimize energy consumption in thermal operations (dryers and kilns).
  • Kaizen & Methodologies: Facilitate VSM (Value Stream Mapping), TPM, 5S, SMED (for rapid mold, format, and glaze changeovers), and A3/Problem Solving workshops.
  • Standardization & Visual Management: Establish Standard Work and Visual Management standards on the shop floor to maintain precise thermal, rheological, and mechanical process parameters.
  • Change Management & Training: Build Lean/Six Sigma capabilities across all plant levels (from leadership to operators) to drive a proactive problem-solving culture.
  • KPI Management: Track and report key metrics including OEE, scrap reduction, cycle times, Autonomous Maintenance compliance, and hard cost savings.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Chemical, Mechanical, or Materials/Ceramics Engineering.
  • Experience: 8+ years in continuous or discrete manufacturing, with at least 4–5 years leading continuous improvement or Lean initiatives in ceramic, glass, cement, or heavy thermal/chemical processing environments.
  • Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Advanced mastery of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, SMED, and VSM.
    • Practical understanding of thermal processes, pressing, slip/glaze rheology, and industrial automation.
