Ensambles Hyson in Mexico seeks an experienced Lead Engineer to support Product Lifecycle, improve quality, launch new plastic injection molds, and reduce product cost. The role focuses on solving performance issues in Rain Bird products, mentoring junior engineers, and guiding cross-functional teams to align with product engineering priorities.

Formación

• BS Degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electrical preferred).
• 9+ years of design, project engineering, or product engineering with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of design/mechanical engineering concepts.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes used in product development (injection molding, ultrasonic welding, fasteners, etc.).
• Experience with plastic and elastomeric materials and mechanical structures.
• Knowledge of fluid dynamics/mechanics.
• Team collaboration across functions to achieve objectives.
• Proven track record leading complex projects to completion.
• Ability to prioritize and manage limited resources for projects.
• Proficient in CAD packages including modeling, assembly, and drafting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of DFx, SPC, FMEA, DOE and Six Sigma techniques.
• Understanding of root cause analysis, optimization, and reliability studies.
• Knowledge of FEA and CFD – finite element analysis.
• Experience with product testing techniques such as environmental stress or HALT.
• Bilingual – English, Spanish.

Overview

We are looking for an experienced, action-oriented, hands-on Lead Engineer who will be responsible for Product Lifecycle support.

The activities are oriented to improve product quality, launch new plastic injection molds and reduce product cost.

The candidate will also work on solving performance problems of Rain Bird products, leading investigations that prevent Rain Bird from delivering products to customers without the required Rain Bird quality.

The candidate is expected to work with autonomy in solving complex technical problems, mentor and coach junior engineers, working within multidisciplinary teams and support Product Engineering group priorities.

Responsibilities

Identify root causes of product quality issues and develop and implement systemic solutions to eliminate future recurrences.

Develop products and process improvements to address these causes.

Support manufacturing plants on implementation of quality, manufacturability and productivity improvements.

Lead quality improvement projects from initial conception/justification through validation and implementation.

Coordinate and implement new product development, brainstorming, prototyping and introduction of new concepts from Design-stage to production readiness.

Responsible for maintaining product lifecycle quality and design integrity.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• BS Degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electrical preferred).
• 9+ years of design, project engineering, or product engineering with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of design/mechanical engineering concepts.
• Working knowledge and experience with:
• Manufacturing processes used in RB (ultrasonic welding, injection molding, fasteners, etc.)
• Plastic and elastomeric materials.
• Mechanical structures.
• Fluid dynamics/mechanics.
• Experience and desire to collaborate with other functional areas to achieve objectives.
• Proven track record of leading complex projects to the finish line.
• Ability to prioritize and determine where to focus limited resources.
• Proficient in the use of CAD packages including modeling, assembly, and drafting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing, SPC, FMEA, DOE and Six Sigma techniques.
• Understanding and application of root cause analysis, optimization, and reliability studies.
• Knowledge of FEA and CFD – performing finite element analysis.

• Experience as Engineering Manager, Engineering Supervisor or equivalent.
• Advanced engineering degree.
• Experience in managing complex programs with remote team members.
