LIXIL Water Technology Americas, located in Ecatepec de Morelos, Mexico, is seeking a Mechanical Product Design Engineer to aid in the development of innovative water solutions. This role involves leading product design from concept to commercialization, ensuring optimal performance and manufacturability in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 2 years of relevant experience. Familiarity with PTC Creo and WindChill PDM systems is essential.

Responsibilities

The world’s leading product company for water technology is seeking a Mechanical Product Design Engineer to aid in new product design and development within our Ceramic and Bathing product segment of the business. You will be part of a core department that works to invent and deliver new products that support the business’s objectives and key results. You will be responsible for leading and collaborating on engineering design from concept to commercialization of new products, working closely with cross‑functional teams ensuring robust performance and manufacturability. This position requires strong technical abilities, outside‑the‑box thinking, strong time management and communication skills to bring new products to market. We are looking for individuals who are motivated to create solutions that help make better homes for everyone, everywhere.

• Create new product designs including technical design, prototyping, testing, and tooling design.
• Design 3D models to achieve the product intent with design for manufacturing, collaborating with Industrial Design, Manufacturing, and Suppliers.
• Create and maintain detailed dimensional drawings, bill of materials, and other technical communication documents.
• Maintain up‑to‑date drawings and 3D models with latest revision changes using WindChill PDM system (ECR/ECN Control).
• Provide technical support and problem solving to manufacturing facilities and suppliers related to product design and process issues.
• Conduct Design for Manufacturability reviews, Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Provide and execute design schedules in collaboration with Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, and suppliers.
• Work effectively in a team environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and at least 2 years of experience, or a Master’s Degree. Professional experience using PTC Creo 3‑D modeling software or equivalent is required. Experience in designing plastics such as composites, injection‑molded, and thermoformed parts is a plus.

• Experience with GD&T and performing tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• Experience using PDM/PLM systems, with WindChill preferred.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong project management and time‑management skills.
• Strong understanding of and experience with industry best practices is a plus.
• Must be able to travel occasionally, within and outside the US.
