Job summary

Acuity is seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer to lead the design and development of LED drivers from concept to production in a cross-functional team. You will drive prototyping, testing, and verification of samples, coordinating with manufacturing to resolve BOM and assembly issues while advancing product quality and manufacturability.

Requirements include 5+ years in power electronics, strong leadership, and proficiency with PSpice/LTSpice, PCB design, and testing equipment.

Qualifications

• Advanced English skills.
• Over 5 years of strong engineering experience, preferably with Power Electronics and SMPS.
• Strong understanding of Power Electronics circuits (Boost, Buck, Flyback, LLC/LCC, Resonant converters, Linear regulators).
• Experience with simulation tools such as PSpice and LTSpice.
• Knowledge of PCB design, electrical standards and manufacturing rules.
• Hands-on with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, AC/DC power supplies and electronic loads.
• Risk-based decision making and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
• Strong technical leadership and influence skills.
• Preferred: experience with UL certification and UL testing for LED drivers.

Responsibilities

• Leads design process for LED drivers, from concept through production, including new product and sustaining design.
• Leads prototyping, testing, verification of samples and cross-functional project management.
• Collaborates with manufacturing to resolve part/assembly issues and BOM errors to maintain lines.
• Participates in or leads team meetings using stage gate product development.
• Develops concepts from project charters and specifications, ensuring manufacturability.
• Improves processes related to productivity, quality, and manufacturing; explores new technologies.
