OPmobility in Monterrey develops advanced automotive lighting solutions and LED components for global applications. The LED component engineer supports design of systems, electronics, and optics, selecting LED components and evaluating performance to meet technical, quality, and cost targets.

You will collaborate with systems, electronics, optics, mechanics, CAE and quality teams to optimize lighting design and identify new LED components and suppliers to improve cost, quality and supplier

Formación

• 3+ years working experience in industrial/ automotive lighting with strong focus to LED technologies.
• Good know-how of LED technology, requirements and standards.
• Good understanding of thermal concept and LED operation condition impact.
• Basic expertise in electronics design and processes applied in automotive design.
• Elementary overview of LED component supply base.

Responsabilidades

• Cooperates with systems, electronics, optics, mechanics, CAE and quality teams to optimize automotive lighting design.
• Cooperates with purchasing commodity team to identify new LED components and suppliers to improve cost, quality and to define the supplier strategy.
• Releases LED into the component database and calculation tool for new applications design.
• Is capable to propose, design and calculate LED working conditions with respect to feasibility, thermal design and cost.
• Is responsible to maintain and contribute to LED component selection rules and standardizations.
• Cooperates with component manufacturers to mature technical solutions and evaluate new component types with a focus on reliability and low-cost.
• Technically supporting lighting designs review in applications with respect to LED selection, their operation conditions, cost optimizations and design feasibility.
• Participate in cost reduction workshops to guide LED selection definition to reach best value for money.
• Respects all company internal rules especially with respect to Health, Safety and Sustainability.

Job Description & Responsibilities

• The LED component engineer supports design of systems, electronics, optics with LED component selection , evaluation and with LED design expertise .

He /she is experienced with automotive /industrial lighting design s and tool s and selecting LED component parameters/materials to meet technical, quality and cost targets.

The role is a global role to support lighting projects design in all regions.

• Cooperates with systems, electronics, optics, mechanics , CAE and quality team to optimize automotive lighting design.
• Cooperates with purchasing commodity team to identify new potential LED components and suppliers to improve cost , quality and to define the supplier strategy
• R eleases LED into the component database and calculation tool for new applications design .
• Is capable to propose , design and calculate LED working conditions with respect to feasibility, thermal design and cost.
• Is responsible to maintain and contribute to LED component selection rules and s tandardizations.

Education Requirement(s)

• BE or M E in Electrical Engineering or Optical Engineering
• Very good level of English communication skills (C1)

Experience Requirement(s)

• 3 + Years working experience in industrial / automotive lighting industry with strong focus to LED technologies.
• Good Know-how of LED technology, requirements and standards
• Good understanding of thermal concept and relevant LED operation condition impact
• Basic expertise in electronics design and processes applied in automotive design
• Elementary overview of LED component supply base
