PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The Identity and Access Management organization within Takeda is looking for an Entra ID and AD subject matter expert. The role is responsible for designing and architecting Entra ID and several on-premises Active Directory instances. The position will support and contribute to Takeda’s digital transformation through partnerships and synergies focused on delivering efficient, secure, reliable, modern, and integrated directory services to support hybrid and multi-cloud solution deployments. The role will also provide highest in-house Directory Services escalation support according to ITIL processes and Takeda's SOPs for Entra ID and traditional Active Directory. As part of the Identity and Access Management team, the role reports to the Head of Directory Services.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Leads all aspects of engineering and service delivery for Takeda's enterprise Active Directory, Azure AD, AWS managed AD and related directory services

  • Cultivates collaborative and growth-oriented culture in the Directory Services team and the Identity and Access Management organization

  • Engages with team members, peers, cross-team and cross-organizational stakeholders todeliver on organizational and Takeda’s mission andgoals

  • Contributes to growing the Directory Services &IAM brand across Takeda

  • Supports the IAM organization with strategy,design, planning, and deployment of IAMsolutions and capabilities

  • Embodies continuous improvement mindset by identifyingopportunities for improving service design, delivery, reliability, and security

  • Monitors and reports performance of managed Directory Services and Entra ID

  • Leads team with data-driven decision making, a "security" first mindset, and seamless end-user experience conviction

  • Develops short-term/long-term plans and objectives for the services and supported technologies

  • Drives efforts towards modernization of the Directory Services and improving overall security, reliability, and stability

  • Deploys new services or changes following operations acceptance criteria and change management procedures

  • Leads infrastructure components, provides escalation support, coordinates 3rd level support according to ITIL processes and Takeda's SOPs.

  • Solves or escalates incidents/requests and operating level breaches, validates operating level reports

  • Defines infrastructure service requirements and operations acceptance criteria for service development projects and external providers

  • Collaborates with counterparts from other functions, function groups and across regions. Ensures that service delivery in the function is monitored effectively and that identified actions to maintain or improve levels of service are implemented. Ensures that operational methods, procedures, facilities, and tools are established, reviewed, and maintained.

  • Performs impact analysis of changes to functional groups globally

  • Supports the Head of Directory Services in developing a vendor management process in collaboration with indirect procurement

  • Delivers solutions in accordance with Takeda system development life cycle, policies, and ITIL guidelines

  • Ensures services are delivered in accordance with all applicable compliance requirements, i.e. SOX, GxP including Audit life-cycle

  • Monitors the market to gain knowledge and understanding of emerging technologies and trends, proposes measures to either improve existing capabilities or introduce new ones, lobbies for organizational support, and procures and implements enhancements

  • Oversees the consolidation of multiple legacy Active Directory domains

  • Supports Takeda’s digital estate transformation journey by eliminating digital debris and helping evolve the directory services space from traditional on-premises platform to a cloud-based identity and access management platform

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • 7+ years of IT work experience

  • 3+ years of leadership experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience

  • Expert level understanding of AD/DNS/Entra

  • Experience in agile project management

  • Expert level understanding and experience of claims-aware authentication and traditional claims protocols like SAML2.0 WS-Fed

  • Expert level understanding of modern authentication/authorization protocols like OAuth2.0 and OIDC

  • Expert level understanding and experience of legacy authentication protocols like LDAP, Kerberos, NTLM

  • Expert level understanding of disposition of Directory Services in M&As

  • Experience with automating, modernizing, and innovating Directory Services and Entra

  • Strong Identity and Access Management or Directory Services & Azure AD experience

  • Experience with deployment of technical capabilities adhering to Zero Trust guiding principles

  • Communication – ability to communicate ideas and data both verbally and written in a persuasive and appropriate manner

  • Data Management – ability to utilize data collection, analysis, maintenance application and refinement methods to make fact-based decisions

  • Analytical skills – ability to analyze a wide variety of data and make appropriate decisions.

  • Management – ability to set priorities, develop workflow processes and manage staff

  • People Development – ability to assess strengths and weaknesses of staff members and provide suggestions for improvement to the line managers

  • Independently drive solutions and focus on results

  • Experience drafting/executing a Business Impact Analysis and Disaster Recovery Plans

Desired

  • Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate

  • IAM consulting experience for a service provider

  • Worked in a Cyber Security Organization

  • Experience working in a regulated industry (i.e. SOX, GxP) including IQ/OQ

  • Project management experience

  • AWS/Azure/On-prem base infrastructure knowledge

  • Experience with agile project management to plan and execute organizational and team initiatives

  • Jira knowledge and experience
